Федора 19, YUM как поиск

    Попытка разобраться что мы имеем на сегодня с собственным софтом иногда вызывает затруднения, как вариант для получения информации удобно использовать терминальную команду «yum info предполагаемое_название_пакета». Команда не требует расширенных прав, работает от пользователя.

Например понадобилась утиль для переименования группы файлов, в терминале вводим:

yum info rename

в ответ видим:

Загружены модули: langpacks, refresh-packagekit

Ошибка: Совпадений среди пакетов не найдено

Нет такого пакета, но Yum поддерживает маску символов, добавляем звёздочки:

yum info *rename*

и получаем перечисление пакетов, с статусом и описанием:

Загружены модули: langpacks, refresh-packagekit

Если Yum не находит нужный пакет, соответственно его нет в прописанных в системе репозитариях, и надо или открывать репозитарий с таким пакетом, или качать напрямую у разработчика, что добавляет некоторые риски к стабильности и безопасности системы.
